As North Carolina begins a move into Phase 2 of reopening, many local governments are continuing to hold their business meetings, work sessions and committee meetings online. Orange and Chatham County governments are no different, with many approving plans to continue holding virtual meetings through the month of May. Some advisory boards and commissions have also begun holding meetings again and to see their schedules, visit the specific local government’s website.
Chapel Hill Town Government
June begins for the Chapel Hill Town Council with a work session to continue discussing a budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year. That meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3.
The Town Council has three additional meeting slated for the month, all on Wednesday: special meetings on June 10 and June 17, with a regular meeting on June 24.
All meetings in June for the town will be held over Zoom, as determined last month.

Carrboro Town Government
The Town of Carrboro will similarly be meeting over Zoom for all of its June meetings. The Town Council is slated to meet four times this month, all on Tuesdays: June 2, June 9, June 16 and June 23. All of those meetings are slated to begin at 7 p.m.

Hillsborough Town Government
The Town of Hillsborough will also be holding its June meetings over Zoom, with the live broadcasts available over the town’s YouTube page.
There are two meetings schedule for Hillsborough’s Board of Commissioners: Monday June 8 and Monday June 29. Two additional meeting sessions could be scheduled on June 15 and 22 if further discussion is needed on the budget proposal before it’s slated to be enacted on June 29.
All of the meetings are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

Orange County Government
Orange County’s Board of Commissioners has two regular meetings scheduled in June: Tuesday June 2 and Tuesday June 16. A public hearing for the county’s proposed budget is slated for Thursday June 4 and a work session for the budget proposal is also slated for Tuesday June 9.
All of those meetings are to be held virtually and will begin at 7 p.m.

Chatham County Government
The Chatham County Board of Commissioners lone regular meeting is slated for 6 p.m. on Monday June 15. The meeting will be held in the typical council chambers: the historic courthouse courtroom.
