An Orange County man was arrested on Friday for a series of narcotics charges.

Marcus Alexander Watson was taken into custody on Friday night after police stopped a car driven by Mori Farrell Jr. for a traffic violation. Farrell was arrested and charged with driving while impaired. Watson was arrested for outstanding drug charges stemming from previous tips to law enforcement.

Officials say investigators with the Hillsborough Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office had previously received information that Watson, who has an address listed at 1700 Terry Road, was selling drugs in the Fairview Community and the Gateway Village Apartments on Lakeside Drive.

Watson has been charged with two counts of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver cocaine, two counts of selling or delivering cocaine, selling a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, daycare or park, maintaining a vehicle to sell a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Watson is being held in the Orange County Detention Center on a $50,000 secured bond.
