A second suspect has been arrested by Chatham County authorities after a shooting earlier this year.

Officials announced earlier this month that 25-year-old Rodney Kyle Lopossay had been arrested after deputies were dispatched in February to Moody Loop Road in response to a report of shots being fired. The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of the second suspect, 23-year-old Jonathan Maxie Lamonds III, on Tuesday.

The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office said that investigators determined the incident started with an argument over a marijuana purchase. “Investigators believe two suspects in a vehicle chased victims in a second vehicle up and down Moody Loop Road while firing gunshots,” according to the release.

Authorities said a residence was struck during the gunfire but no injuries were reported.

Lamonds was arrested on July 14, according to law enforcement.

Both individuals were charged with two felony counts of assault with deadly weapon with intent to kill, two felony counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling or vehicle and injury to real property. Lamonds was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, communicating threats and assault on a female.

Lopossay was jailed under a $92,000 secured bond, as of last update. Lamonds, meanwhile, was given a $100,000 secured bond.
