The WNBA announced Tuesday that Atlanta Dream forward–and former UNC standout–Jessica Breland has been named the league’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week.
It’s the first time in her seven-year pro career that Breland has earned the honor.
With Breland averaging 14.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 2.67 blocks per game, the Dream posted a 3-0 record this past week to extend their overall winning streak to four games.
The 6-foot-3 forward posted perhaps the best game of her career to start the week when she tallied 23 points, 10 rebounds, a career-high seven assists and a season-high-tying four blocks in a 106-89 win over the Washington Mystics on July 11.
