A popular Orange County business was broken into early one morning this week and sheriff’s office investigators are asking for help locating the suspects.

Law enforcement officials said that a security camera at Maple View Farm Ice Cream on Rocky Ridge Road caught the break-in and an alarm sounded. Authorities said nothing appeared to have been taken from the ice cream shop and that it seemed the alarm caused the suspects to flee.

A second business was broken into less than two hours later on Highway 54, according to the sheriff’s office. But the alarm went off at that location as well.

Maple View Farm Ice Cream shared an image of the suspect on Facebook. They wrote that, “Although we love visitors at Maple View Farm Ice Cream we prefer they come during business hours and not during the middle of the night.”

Investigators said evidence was collected from the Maple View scene and that authorities were looking for two suspects.

Both of the break-ins occurred between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Monday.

Anyone with information on the investigation is asked to call Investigator Baldwin at (919) 245-2939.
