Chatham County authorities are looking for two suspects who allegedly broke into a home early Wednesday and held a victim at gunpoint.
Law enforcement officials said in a release that Chatham County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report of a home invasion on River Forest Road shortly after 9 a.m. Wednesday. The location is near Perry Harrison Elementary School, which caused the school to go into a temporary “soft” lockdown, but officials said there was no threat against the school. The lockdown was lifted by school administrators.
Officials said in a release around noon that authorities are now looking for two male suspects. One is described as wearing a blue Nike sweatshirt. The second suspect was wearing a black Nike sweatshirt, according to law enforcement.
The home invasion is not thought to be a random act, investigators said, “nor do deputies have reason to believe the suspects are still in the area.”
The investigation is ongoing.
