The Orange County Sheriff’s Office made a third arrest in an ongoing investigation into a shooting in Hillsborough last week.

Authorities arrested Tiffany Cheson Ray, 38, of Hillsborough, on Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and Felony Conspiracy charges on Monday. The sheriff’s office said she is being held in the Orange County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond. A release from the office defined a conspiracy as involving an agreement with at least one other person to commit an unlawful act with the intent for that agreement to be carried out.

Orange County Sheriff deputies responded to a disturbance at the Carolantic Mobile Home Park in Hillsborough on August 11, finding a man with a gunshot wound upon arrival. Ray’s arrest follows two other suspects being arrested by Orange County Sheriff’s Office investigators on Friday. Matthew Thomas Wetherington and Danielle Kara Warren, both of Durham, were both charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury.

Monday’s release did not identify the victim, but said it is a 34-year-old man. The update said the victim is still recovering in hospital from his injury.
