The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident that resulted in a gunshot victim on Tuesday.

A release from the office said sheriff deputies responded to a disturbance at the Carolantic Mobile Home Park in Hillsborough at 11:31 a.m. Upon arrival, one man was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The sheriff’s office said the deputies provided medical attention until Orange County EMS crews arrived on-scene.

According to Tuesday’s release, witnesses in the area reported seeing a burgundy vehicle leaving the area heading north on St. Mary’s Road towards Durham. The office did not indicate the role this vehicle played in the injury of the gunshot victim.
