A report of gunshots and building damage in an apartment community early Saturday morning is being investigated by the Chapel Hill Police Department.

According to a release shared by the department around 10 a.m. on Saturday, police received a report of gunfire in the 100 block of Timber Hollow Court — a road in the Timber Hollow apartment complex that is off Piney Mountain Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Chapel Hill Police said officers arrived at 1:25 a.m. and discovered bullet holes in one of the buildings. No injuries were reported, according to the police department.

Although investigators say Saturday’s gunshots were an isolated incident, the police department said an investigation is ongoing. As of Saturday afternoon, no additional information is being publicly shared by police.

In its release, Chapel Hill Police asked anyone with information about the gunfire along Timber Hollow Court to call 911 or contact the police department directly (919-968-2760).
