UNC sophomore forward Armando Bacot was one of 11 players selected Monday to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Player Development Coalition.

The coalition is meant to be a diverse collection of Division I men’s basketball student-athletes that will provide valuable perspective and feedback on college basketball issues. Members will also be provided with numerous personal and professional development experiences.

Quarterly meetings will also be held to allow the coalition to address the NABC Board of Directors and NCAA committees.

“Our priority as coaches is to support student-athlete development both on and off the court,” NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson said. “As the NABC continues its advocacy and policy work on issues impacting our game, it’s vital that input from student-athletes be central to those efforts. Whether it’s NIL, transfer parameters, social justice, COVID-19 or a host of other important topics currently impacting college basketball, we will make sure student-athletes’ voices are heard.”

As the ACC debates the best way forward for fall and winter sports, Bacot took to Twitter early Tuesday morning to share some of his thoughts.

Joining Bacot on the coalition is a group of players which includes: Wendell Moore Jr. (Duke), Evan Battey (Colorado), Kale Catchings (Harvard), Keion Brooks Jr. (Kentucky), Collin Gillespie (Villanova), Corey Kispert (Gonzaga), Joshua Langford (Michigan State), R.J. Nembhard (TCU), Bourama Sidibe (Syracuse) and John-Michael Wright (High Point).
