The Carrboro Police Department is investigating a case of felony larceny that occurred before dawn on January 5 in the Autumn Woods apartment complex on Old Fayetteville Road.
According to initial police reports on this case, the victim lost over $8,500 in cash and property when his car was targeted for a break-in between the hours of 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM on Thursday.
The victim approached his car at 6:50 AM and noticed that one of his rear door windows had been shattered. After taking stock of missing items in his vehicle, he dialed 911 to report a burglary.
Over 20 items were reported as stolen by the victim, including two pistols, two rifles, one civilian drone, one radar detector, two boxes of small-caliber ammunition, one wallet, and $1,000 in cash.
Capt. Chris Atack of the Carrboro Police Department said the victim’s vehicle is being processed and the investigation will continue. Suspect information has not yet become available.
