The Chapel Hill Police Department arrested a man Wednesday for robbing a victim at knifepoint.
Authorities arrested 19-year-old Amani Rae`shawn King of Chapel Hill on charges of robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon, as well as resisting arrest. A police report describes King as the suspect in an attack involving “lethal cutting” that occurred Wednesday evening in the Chase Park Apartments complex, located off a bypass of North Carolina Highway 54.
The victim, whose name is restricted in police reports, was reported as having their clothes bloodied from the attack. The sustained injuries, however, were listed as minor.
A magistrate placed King under a $50,000 secured bond Wednesday night and transferred him to the Orange County Detention Center. He is slated to appear in court on the charges Thursday afternoon.
