An educator in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools system is facing a sex offense charge from a November incident.
Wake County authorities booked Frederick Feely of Raleigh in their detention center Monday afternoon on a second degree sex offense. The 52-year-old is an exceptional children resource teacher at McDougle Middle School in Chapel Hill. According to Wake County authorities, the charge stems from an incident on November 2.
Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools confirmed Feely’s arrest, saying McDougle Middle Principal Robert Bales recorded a phone message sent to families and staff members at the school to alert them of the news. A spokesperson for the district said the charge did not involve any CHCCS students or any other staff members.
Prior to working at McDougle Middle, Feely also worked at Smith Middle School within the CHCCS district.
