A Carrboro teenager has been charged after allegedly assaulting a paramedic who was responding to an “unknown medical call” just after 10 o’clock Tuesday night on Camelia Street.
Police say 19-year-old Derrel Braggs is facing a felony charge of assault on a medical provider. The Orange County EMS paramedic and Braggs were both transported to UNC Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained, according to authorities.
Officials say Braggs will be arrested upon his release from the hospital.
The medical provider suffered non-life threatening injuries.
