Local authorities are searching for a white BMW that officials believe is being driven by suspects in multiple armed robberies in Orange County.

Carrboro Police say officers were called to an armed robbery that allegedly occurred around 5:45 Wednesday evening in the Lake Hogan Farms subdivision off of Homestead Road. Police say a 2015 white BMW X5 was taken from a victim at gunpoint by a suspect described as a black male between 16 and 20 years old, estimated to be 5’ 9” and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Police say two other suspects were in a white Nissan Versa at the time of the armed robbery. The Versa then left along with the BMW, according to law enforcement. The Versa was then recovered after it crashed leaving the area.

The stolen BMW was then involved in an armed carjacking later Wednesday evening, authorities said in a release. The second incident was reported on Dairyland Road where “two black males with guns robbed a victim of cash and her vehicle.”

The vehicle stolen in the Dairyland Road armed robbery has been recovered, but authorities are still searching for the white BMW. The license plate of the white BMW is CDH-1051.

Police are asking any residents of Lake Hogan Farms with security cameras to contact police. Anyone with information on this case can call Carrboro Police at (919) 918-7412 or Crime Stoppers at (919) 942-7515.

Anyone with information regarding the Dairyland Road carjacking is asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at (919) 245-2951 or Crime Stoppers.
