Police arrested a Carrboro man on Tuesday following a federal investigation into child pornography.
Carrboro Police said in a release they charged Nathan Srug Zalman, 69, with 12 counts of second degree exploitation of a minor. The department said they were contacted by the FBI regarding a child pornography investigation and after a review of evidence collected by the FBI, arrest warrants for Zalman were obtained.
Zalman’s bond at the Orange County Jail was set at $49,000. His first appearance in court will be Wednesday.
Police said additional charges are expected.
