UNC senior Blaine Boyden and junior William Blumberg were recognized Tuesday as the ACC Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week.

The duo went 2-0 for the Tar Heels last week, with a win over Wake Forest’s Borna Gojo and Alan Gadjiev followed by another over Florida State’s Sebastian Arcila and Alex Knaff.

What makes the victory over Wake Forest so important, however, is that Gojo was named the Singles Player of the Week and Wake Forest has won the overall team match against UNC both times the schools have met this season.

As a result, Boyden and Blumberg moved up 19 spots in the rankings to No. 34 this week.

The No. 11 Tar Heels will return to action on Wednesday when they host No. 21 NC State at 4 p.m.
