Playing on the road in Blacksburg on Friday evening, the UNC volleyball team was defeated in straight sets 3-0 (15-25, 19-25, 23-25) by the host Virginia Tech Hokies.

The Hokies (11-4, 2-1 ACC) came out of the gates strong–posting a .577 hitting percentage in a dominant first set victory–and never looked back, as they handed the Tar Heels (5-8, 1-3 ACC) their eighth loss of the season.

Destiny Cox led UNC with seven kills in the match, while Ava Bell was right behind with six.

The Tar Heels had a hitting percentage of just .058, while Virginia Tech ended the night at .209 in the same category as it cruised to victory.
