Having sputtered to an 8-7 record over the first 15 games of the season, the UNC baseball team fell out of the D1Baseball.com Top 25 this week.

The newest edition of the poll, which was released on Monday, has the Tar Heels dropping from No. 20 to the outside looking in–while local rivals Duke and NC State made their way into the rankings, at No. 21 and No. 24 respectively.

UNC is coming off a week in which it lost two out of three games on the road against then-No. 13 Louisville–a team that moved up one spot to No. 12.

Oregon State takes over as the new No. 1 team in the land, with defending national champion Florida sitting at No. 2. Stanford, Kentucky and Arkansas make up the rest of the top five.

Rounding out the top 10 is a group of schools including: No. 6 Texas Tech, No. 7 Florida State, No. 8 Ole Miss, No. 9 Texas A&M and No. 10 Clemson.

The ACC is represented this week by Florida State, Clemson, Louisville, Duke, NC State and also No. 22 Virginia.

This week, the Tar Heels will look to move back into the rankings with a game against NC A&T on Tuesday followed by a three-game series at home over the weekend against Pittsburgh.
