Friday afternoon saw the top-ranked UNC women’s tennis team assert its collective might at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill–as the Tar Heels rolled to a 7-0 shutout victory over the No. 21 Virginia Cavaliers.

As a result, the Tar Heels (21-2, 10-1) extended their winning streak to five matches and held onto their spot atop the ACC standings.

After taking the doubles point with relative ease, UNC was forced to work for every point in singles competition.

Alexa Graham rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 victory on Court Three to improve to 11-0 against ACC opponents this year, but three of the Tar Heels’ other five singles victories needed a third set to decide a winner.
