The Chelsea Theater — a non-profit community theater in Chapel Hill – will soon be presenting a special series that specifically focuses on the Triangle area.

Through its “Chelsea Selects: A Lens on the Triangle” program, the Chelsea has extended an invitation to filmmakers who have finished a short film or long-form feature either about the Triangle or made in the Triangle.

The theater is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19 concerns, the theater has begun to host virtual events and screenings – and submissions are currently open for films that will be featured in its virtual theater that will stream local film content.

Submissions are asked to include a $2 donation per short film submission – 20 minutes or less – and a $5 donation for a long-form film – 20 minutes or longer. The Chelsea also asks that all submissions fall within “PG-13” guidelines.

Ticket revenues from the series will be shared equally between the Chelsea and exhibiting filmmakers, and you can click here for more information and also to submit your own film.
