This week’s Hometown Hero, presented by Hendrick Acura Southpoint, is Jeanette Bench, a local resident of Chapel Hill.
“Jeanette has joined our Parks and Rec Commission and has been very helpful there,” Chapel Hill Mayor Pam Hemminger said. “But also she’s out and about. She’s organized so many cleanups along our trails. She has gotten large groups of people together to clean up our trail, to make them not only more beautiful, but to inspire the wildlife.
“She’s always loved our Greenways and our crews are in charge of keeping the Greenway itself clean and unobstructed, but off to the sides, where the visibility is, Jeanette always been concerned with what we were doing with all that and how to make it better.”
