Al’s Burger Shack
Blue Heaven is officially home to the best burger in America, according to TripAdvisor.
TripAdvisor is a helpful website and invaluable resource to countless travelers every day. Providing rankings, reservations and recommendations for everything from flights to fancy restaurants; it follows that the friendly folks providing all these helpful tips and tricks would know a thing or two about America’s “best-of” spots. Luckily for Chapel Hill, the best burger in America is right down the road at Al’s Burger Shack.
Clocking in ahead of spectacularly named establishments that are stiff competition for “best burger in America” based on name alone – like “Honest Abe’s Burgers & Freedom” in Nebraska, third on the list – Al’s Burger Shack found the edge it needed to out-grill the rest of America in the form of the “Bobo Chili Cheeseburger.” A local favorite topped with chili, coleslaw, chopped onion, yellow mustard and American cheese, the Bobo is known for filling bellies, tickling tastebuds and requiring the use of napkins by the handful.
Al’s is also the top-ranked restaurant in Chapel Hill, according to TripAdvisor users, first among the 210 restaurants listed. With 277 reviews and an aggregate score of four-and-a-half stars out of five, it turns out that when it comes to Franklin Street, burgers talk and pizza walks.
