A popular locally owned burger restaurant has announced today that it will open its second location this summer.
Al’s Burger Shack, which opened its first location on Franklin Street in 2013, will open a new location in Southern Village near Weaver Street Market.
The restaurant has a focus on local and sustainable food and drink and antibiotic free, pasture-raised beef.
Its popularity has earned it praise in a number of national publications, including the New York Times and Garden and Gun, as well as accolades from Indy Week and Chapel Hill Magazine.
Al’s Southern Village will offer staples from its original location, along with several menu additions like a turkey burger, new types of fries and beers on tap.
At 1,500 square feet, the new restaurant will be the larger of the two locations. It will feature a 30-seat indoor dining room and a large outdoor seating area.
