UNC sophomore guard D’Marco Dunn has entered the transfer portal, according to a report from Inside Carolina. He is the seventh Tar Heel to transfer out of the program since the end of the 2022-23 season.

Dunn played in 50 total games with Carolina but saw a major uptick in minutes between his freshman (4.1) and sophomore (10.2) seasons. The 6-4 wing, originally from Tucson, AZ, averaged 2.7 points per game as a sophomore but did not make any starts.

Dunn’s departure means both of Carolina’s two-man recruiting class of 2021 have transferred; Dontrez Styles has since committed to Georgetown. Dunn’s decision also means the Tar Heels now have three open scholarships on their roster for the 2023-24 season. Four transfers have committed to Carolina out of the portal against seven departures. Dunn is the only outgoing Tar Heel to have not yet committed to a new school.
