Update: Inside Carolina reported Thursday afternoon that Florida Atlantic’s Maxim Logue is “no longer expected” to transfer to UNC this offseason.
UNC added another piece out of the transfer portal Tuesday, as Inside Carolina reported the Tar Heels earned a commitment from Florida Atlantic big man Maxim Logue. Logue will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Logue, a sophomore originally from France, spent his freshman season at Oregon State. With the Beavers, he appeared in 21 games and totaled 60 points, 42 rebounds and five blocks across those appearances. He registered his first collegiate double-double with an 18-point, 10-rebound performance against UCF in the College Basketball Crown event.
After transferring to Florida Atlantic, Logue appeared in 28 of the Owls’ 33 games during the 2025-26 season. He upped both his usage and his productivity from his freshman season, averaging 11.1 minutes, 4.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game. Logue reached double figures four times, including a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double in an overtime win vs. Charlotte.
Logue also has experience on the international stage, competing for Team France in several European events. He represented his country at the 2023 U18 European Championships and played well, averaging 7.0 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting 54.5 percent from the floor. He also played for France at tournaments in 2022 and 2021, as well as playing in LNB Pro A, the top French league.
Logue is the third player to commit to UNC out of the portal Tuesday, joining Utah’s Terrence Brown and NC State’s Matt Able. Virginia Tech’s Neoklis Avdalas has also committed to the Tar Heels.
