The undefeated UNC women’s lacrosse team received a plethora of honors from the ACC this week, placing seven players in its all-conference teams, with four on the first team.

Midfielder Ally Mastroianni, defender Emma Trenchard, attacker Jamie Ortega and goalie Taylor Moreno are all featured on the first ream, while defender Emily Nalls and attacker Caitlyn Wurzburger made the second team. Defender Brooklyn Walker-Welch was also named to the All-Freshman team.

Ortega, Mastroianni and Moreno have each started all 15 games for No. 1 UNC this season. Ortega is Carolina’s leader in goals (53) and points (83). She is up to 436 points for her career, and is just 10 points away from setting the all-time ACC record. Mastroianni is the team leader in draw controls with 96. The next closest teammate, Nalls, has 44. Moreno set UNC’s all-time record for consecutive starts in net this season, and is still extending that record after starting her 69th consecutive game against Duke last Thursday.

Up next for Carolina is the ACC Tournament, to be played on the campus of Notre Dame. UNC, the top seed in the field, will open play on Friday at noon against either Pittsburgh or Louisville. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network. The Tar Heels are looking to win their sixth consecutive ACC Tournament.
