UNC Swimming and Diving head coach Mark Gangloff has established a Top 25 culture in Chapel Hill, and now the program has a challenging schedule ahead of it for the 2021-22 season.
The program’s first meet will take place at Queens College in Charlotte on October 1, before hosting NC State on October 13. The Wolfpack men’s and women’s programs were ranked No. 6 and No. 5 in the final spring 2021 polls, respectively.
The difficulty of the schedule doesn’t let up, though, as the Tar Heels travel to Athens, GA to take on Georgia on October 22. The Bulldogs have one of the best swimming and diving programs in the nation, with their men’s and women’s teams finishing 2021 both ranked No. 4.
Georgia Tech, whose men’s team ranked No. 18 in 2021, will visit the Tar Heels on November 5.
The Tar Heels will end the fall season at the NCSU Invitational in Raleigh, N.C. from November 18 to November 20, before taking part in the U.S. Open from December 1 to December 4 in Greensboro, N.C.
During dual season in January, Carolina will host the Wolfpack again, as well as travel to road meets with Virginia and Duke.
Georgia Tech will host the ACC Championships from February 15 to 19. The NCAA Women’s Championships take place from March 16 to 19, while the Men’s Championships will take place the following week. Both will take place in Atlanta.
