After defeating the visiting East Carolina Pirates by a score of 7-0 on Wednesday at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center in Chapel Hill, the third-ranked UNC women’s tennis team improved its record to 3-0 to start the 2019 season.
It took nearly an hour to complete the doubles portion of the event, but the Tar Heels were ultimately able to secure the point when Makenna Jones and Cameron Morra clinched a 7-3 win in their tiebreaker.
From there, it was smooth sailing for UNC–as all six Tar Heel players won their singles matches in straight sets without facing much of a challenge.
