Despite falling in the NCAA Tournament Round of 16 to eventual national champion Stanford, the UNC women’s tennis team ended the year ranked No. 3 in the final Oracle/ITA rankings of the season.
UNC posted a 28-4 record in dual matches this season and took home the ITA National Indoor Championship earlier in the year.
Head coach Brian Kalbas’s team also finishes in the top five for the sixth consecutive season, the longest such streak in the country.
The Tar Heels also joined Stanford as the only two programs to have six players ranked among the top 125 in the final individual rankings. Makenna Jones, at No. 4, was UNC’s highest-ranked player.
