Former UNC star wide receiver Hakeem Nicks recently made a generous donation to the football program, resulting in his name going on the brand new wide receiver meeting room at the renovated Kenan Football Center.

The Carolina football program announced the news on its social media pages Tuesday morning.

Nicks starred for the Tar Heels from 2006-2008, ending his career with 181 catches, 2,840 yards and 21 touchdowns–numbers that each rank among the top three in school history. He then went on to play seven seasons in the NFL, where he gained over 5,000 yards and won a Super Bowl with the New York Giants.

The wide recevier’s donation makes him the second former UNC player to have a meeting room named after them, as Nicks joins former safety Da’Norris Searcy — who made a contribution to the defensive backs room.
