Coming off a fabulous debut season in Chapel Hill, it was announced last week that UNC freshman right-hander Gianluca Dalatri has earned himself a spot on the USA Baseball National Collegiate Team.

Dalatri was named to the Freshman All-American team in 2017, after posting a 7-3 record with a 3.34 ERA at UNC this past year.

He is also the third Tar Heel since 2013–along with JB Bukauskas and Skye Bolt–to gain a spot on the Collegiate National Team.

The 6-foot-6-inch native of Wall Township, New Jersey will be with the National Team through July 1–as it faces off against competition from the Coastal Plain League and the Chinese Taipei.

Training–and a majority of the games–for the team will be held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, while the Chinese Taipei series is scheduled to finish up on July 1 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham.
