Riding high on a four-game win streak that includes wins over a pair of top 10 opponents–No. 1 Notre Dame and previously undefeated NC State–the UNC women’s basketball team was recognized Tuesday as the NCAA Team of the Week.

The Tar Heels won a close game 91-90 against Georgia Tech last Thursday before upsetting the Wolfpack in Raleigh on Sunday.

They are currently 14-9 with a 5-4 record in ACC play after starting the season with a run of inconsistent play.

As a result, head coach Sylvia Hatchell’s team received votes in the AP Women’s Basketball Top 25 for the first time all season this week.

Next up for the Tar Heels is another rivalry game, this one at home against Duke on Thursday (7 p.m.)
