Sophomore Hannah George homered and threw a complete game shutout on Tuesday in Chapel Hill to help lead the UNC softball team to a 7-0 victory over the NC Central Eagles.

George was one of three Tar Heels–along with Zoe Goodman and Kiersten Licea–to hit a solo home run in the game, as UNC improved to 6-5 on the season while dropping NC Central’s record to 0-3.

After being held scoreless for the first two innings, the Tar Heels put four runs on the board in the third to take a commanding lead.

UNC would go on to add a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth while George continued to keep the Eagles from doing any kind of damage on the other side.

For the game, the Tar Heels tallied 11 hits compared to just five for NC Central.
