After totaling 12 runs batted in while leading the Tar Heels to an undefeated week of action, UNC softball infielder Kat Rodriguez has been named the ACC Player of the Week.

Rodriguez and the Tar Heels went 6-0 during the week, with home wins against Drexel, Princeton and George Mason and a road win at Coastal Carolina. UNC scored at least eight runs in five of those games, and Rodriguez was a catalyst of the offensive eruption. The Florida native hit .526 across the six-game stretch, recording four multi-RBI games, 10 total hits and four doubles. Through 11 games in the 2025 season, Rodriguez leads the team in batting average (.457), hits (16), runs batted in (17), doubles (seven) and total bases (23).

Rodriguez is a two-time transfer, having spent one season at Quinnipiac and three at Pittsburgh. The 2025 season is her final year of collegiate eligibility.

Rodriguez and the Tar Heels will bring their six-game winning streak into a road matchup at No. 21 South Carolina in Columbia on Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
