UNC senior safety D.J. Ford–who previously chose to opt out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns–announced Tuesday that he has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Ford played in all 13 games and started seven for the Tar Heels in 2019, finishing the year with 54 tackles, one sack, one interception and a fumble recovery.
He was expected to play an important role in the UNC secondary this season prior to opting out.
