Thursday marked the first time in the history of the UNC men’s tennis program that the Tar Heels placed five players on the All-ACC Teams.

Junior William Blumberg and sophomore Benjamin Sigouin led the way as First Team selections. Freshman Brian Cernoch carved out a place on the Second Team, while senior Blaine Boyden and junior Josh Peck each ended up on the Third Team.

No other ACC team had more than three players selected.

“This shows the depth of our team,” UNC head coach Sam Paul said. “It’s a tremendous honor, particularly in a conference as tough as ours.”

With this group doing most of the work, the Tar Heels have compiled an 18-6 record this season. They currently are in anticipation of their NCAA Tournament opponents, which will be revealed on Monday evening.
