After securing the ITA National Indoor Championship this past weekend, the UNC men’s tennis team took over the No. 1 spot in the ITA rankings on Wednesday.

This marks the first time since April of 2016 that the Tar Heel men have been ranked No. 1, and now gives UNC the top-ranked men’s and women’s tennis teams in the country.

The rest of the top five behind UNC consists of: No. 2 Baylor, No. 3 Tennessee, No. 4 Virginia and No. 5 TCU.

On their run to the ITA National Indoor title, the Tar Heels defeated Tennessee, Virginia and Baylor–the three teams now ranked directly behind them.

UNC is scheduled to return to action on Friday, Feb. 26 against Clemson.
