The final ITA men’s collegiate rankings were released on Wednesday, with UNC listed at No. 6 in the country — good enough for the best among all teams in the ACC.

Head coach Sam Paul’s Tar Heels posted a record of 21-4 this season and won the ITA National Indoor Championship back in February, briefly earning themselves the No. 1 ranking for the first time since 2016.

UNC began the year with 13 consecutive victories before losing its first match of the season on the road at Virginia back on March 28. The Tar Heels would meet up with the Cavaliers again in the ACC Tournament finals on April 25, but again met a similar fate.

In the NCAA Tournament, UNC cruised past Presbyterian and Oklahoma State in Chapel Hill to earn a spot in the Round of 16 — where Georgia ended the Tar Heels’ run with a tight 4-3 victory.

On the individual side, fifth-year senior William Blumberg recently became the first 10-time All-American in ITA history.

Blumberg became the first Tar Heel to ever reach four consecutive NCAA Singles Tournament quarterfinals on Tuesday before losing to Adrian Boitan of Baylor University on Wednesday. Blumberg reached the quarterfinals with his doubles partner Brian Cernoch as well, before falling to Constantin Frantzen and Sven Lah of Baylor.

National champion Florida ends the year as the nation’s No. 1 ranked team, with the rest of the top five consisting of No. 2 Baylor, No. 3 Texas, No. 4 Tennessee and No. 5 TCU.

The rest of the top 10 behind the Tar Heels at No. 6 includes: No. 7 Virginia, No. 8 Texas A&M, No. 9 Georgia and No. 10 USC.

Other ACC teams among the poll are No. 12 Wake Forest, No. 26 NC State, No. 32 Virginia Tech, No. 34 Georgia Tech, No. 36 Duke, No. 43 Miami, No. 51 Louisville, No. 54 Florida State and No. 55 Clemson.
