The third-ranked UNC men’s soccer team picked up a huge victory on Tuesday night at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, as Jack Skahan’s goal in the 33rd minute lifted the Tar Heels to a 1-0 win over the No. 12 UNC-Wilmington Seahawks.

It was the fourth consecutive shutout win for UNC (8-1-0), which has gone 473 minutes without allowing a goal.

UNC-Wilmington (7-2-1) managed to get three of its six shots to go on target–which was more than the Tar Heels’ one shot on goal–but it would not be enough to get past one of the nation’s stingiest defenses.

The Tar Heels will try to make it five shutouts in a row on Saturday when they host No. 19 Virginia Tech at Koskinen Stadium in Durham.
