Roy Williams landed yet another five-star recruit on Tuesday night, when point guard Caleb Love (Christian Brothers College, St. Louis) announced he will play his college basketball at UNC next season.

Love ultimately chose the Tar Heels over Missouri, but his list also included Arizona, Kansas, Louisville and Indiana. He is just the second Missouri native to ever sign with the Tar Heels, and first since Tyler Hansbrough.

The 6-foot-3-inch guard  also becomes the third five-star recruit in UNC’s Class of 2020, joining big men Walker Kessler and Day’Ron Sharpe. According to 24/7 Sports, Love is the No. 21 ranked high school player in the country regardless of position, and fourth among point guards.

With the expected departure of current point guard Cole Anthony for the NBA Draft following this season, Love will likely step right in as the Tar Heels’ starting point guard next year.

This marks the first time the Tar Heels have landed a trio of top-25 recruits since Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington and Brandan Wright back in 2006. That group would go on to help UNC win the NCAA championship in 2009.
