With the ACC Tournament set to begin this week, the UNC baseball team reached its highest ranking of the year in the final D1Baseball.com Top 25 of the season.

The Coastal Division champions jumped one spot to No. 2 in this week’s poll, fresh off its program-record 10th ACC series win of the season.

It’s the highest the Tar Heels (44-11) have been ranked all year long.

After an 0-3 week, the ACC Atlantic Division champion Louisville Cardinals–the top seed in the conference tournament–fell three spots from No. 2 to No. 5.

Oregon State (45-4) held onto its place at No. 1, with No. 3 Florida and No. 4 Texas Tech making up the rest of the top five.

Other ACC teams among the poll include: No. 12 Virginia, No. 14 Wake Forest and No. 18 Clemson.

The ACC’s five ranked schools puts the league in a tie with the SEC for most in the country.

UNC is scheduled to begin its ACC Tournament run on Wednesday with a game against Boston College. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. and all games will take place at Louisville Slugger Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky.
