UNC head coach Jenny Levy was one of eight people selected Wednesday to be inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Levy has guided the Tar Heel women for each of the last 26 seasons and is the only head coach in the history of the UNC program. She ranks third in NCAA history with 373 career wins, while amassing just 117 losses over that time.

The Tar Heels have won two national titles under her leadership in 2013 and 2016, and enter this weekend’s Final Four with a perfect 20-0 record and a program-record 27-game winning streak.

Levy has been named the National Coach of the Year twice in her storied career and was named head coach of the U.S. National Team back in 2017–a group littered with current and former Tar Heel greats like Jamie Ortega, Katie Hoeg, Marie McCool and Molly Hendrick.

UNC has also made 22 NCAA Tournament appearances, 12 NCAA Final Fours and won six ACC championships under Levy’s guidance.

As a player, Levy was a star at the University of Virginia from 1988-92 and scored three goals in the 1991 NCAA title game to give the Cavaliers the national championship that year. She was a two-time All-American and the 1992 NCAA Attacker of the Year, which earned her a spot among the top 50 players in ACC history back in 2002.

Other inductees into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame this year include: Sheehan Stanwick Burch, Patty Daley, Levy, Ryan McClay, John Pirro, Tony Resch, Kris Snider, and Beth Stone.

There are close to 450 members in the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame, which is located next to the National Lacrosse Museum at the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, Maryland.
