UNC senior Cam Dillard is among the watch list candidates for this season’s Rimington Award, which is given each year to the top center in college football.

The Rimington Trophy Committee created the list by accepting nominations from programs across the country who submitted their starting center’s name for consideration.

After spending three seasons in the trenches as a Florida Gator, Dillard decided to take his talents to Chapel Hill for his final year of eligibility.

The graduate transfer arrived at UNC this summer, and is expected to take over in the middle of the Tar Heel offensive line in 2017–following the graduation of longtime stalwart Lucas Crowley.

In three seasons at Florida, Dillard started a total of 19 games. At 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds, he provided the Gators with a large presence up front–but a knee injury ended his season in 2016 after starting the first eight games.
