The hot streak in recruiting for the UNC football program continued on Tuesday night, when the Tar Heels received a commitment from four-star tight end Bryson Nesbit.

A star for South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, Nesbit stands at 6-foot-6 and weighs 235 pounds.

Nesbit is ranked as the No. 16 tight end in the country according to the 24/7 Sports Composite rankings and No. 390 player overall. He chose the Tar Heels over Ole Miss, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and UCLA, but also had offers from elite programs such as Florida, Georgia, Ohio State and Penn State.

Prior to his junior year of high school, Nesbit was a basketball player who had never played organized football.

He becomes the 11th four-star recruit from the state of North Carolina to join UNC’s loaded Class of 2021, which includes verbal commitments from five-star defensive end recruit Keeshawn Silver, quarterback Drake Maye and nine other four-star recruits.

UNC is currently listed by 24/7 Sports as having the No. 13 ranked class in the country.
