UNC released its schedule on Wednesday for the upcoming 2020 college baseball season, with the Diamond Heels set to take on a total of 10 teams that competed in last year’s NCAA Tournament.

Of the Tar Heels’ first 19 games, 16 will be played in Chapel Hill inside the friendly confines of Boshamer Stadium. That includes three-game series against Middle Tennessee State (Feb. 14-16) and Dallas Baptist (Feb. 21-23) and mid-week games against Elon (Feb. 18), High Point (Feb. 19) and North Carolina A&T (Feb. 25).

Following those first two weekends, UNC heads to Minneapolis and US Bank Stadium–the home of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings–for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge against Minnesota (Feb. 28), Iowa (Feb. 29) and Purdue (Mar. 1).

That trip is the only interruption in the Tar Heels opening streak of home games, as they return to the Bosh for mid-week games against UNCG (Mar. 3) and VCU (Mar. 4) before hosting Notre Dame (Mar. 6-8) for a three-game series that marks the beginning of ACC play.

The Tar Heels then host Gardner-Webb (Mar. 10) and VMI (Mar. 11), before heading across the Triangle to take on Duke in Durham (Mar. 13-15).

More home games await after the trip to Durham, with UNC hosting UNCW on St. Patrick’s Day and Louisville over that weekend (Mar. 20-22).

A week on the road will follow those four games, started off by a trip to Greenville to face ECU (Mar. 24) and a visit to Winston-Salem to do battle against Wake Forest (Mar. 27-29).

April’s schedule begins in Chapel Hill with the Tar Heels hosting Liberty (Apr. 1) and Georgia Tech (Apr. 3-5), before heading to Charlotte for the annual rivalry game against South Carolina on April 7.

Six of the next seven games will come on the road, with ACC series against Miami (Apr. 10-12) and NC State (Apr. 17-19) sandwiched around a non-conference game against Coastal Carolina on April 14.

UNC will then return home for 10 consecutive games, taking on Campbell (Apr. 21) then welcoming Virginia Tech for a three-game series from Apr. 24-26. Mid-week showdowns against ECU (Apr. 28) and the College of Charleston (May 5-6) precede the Tar Heels’ final ACC series at home, which will come against Pittsburgh (May 8-10).

The final four games of the regular season will each come on the road, beginning with a trip to Boone to face Appalachian State on May 12. Finally, the Tar Heels will then head to Charlottesville for a three-game set against Virginia (May 14-16) to wrap up the year.

This year’s ACC Tournament will be held at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte from May 19-24.
