A total of three UNC field hockey players were selected by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association as All-Americans on Tuesday, led by First Team selections Erin Matson and Yentl Leemans–the ACC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively.

In addition, senior Marissa Creatore earned a spot on the Third Team.

Matson, a sophomore, ended the year as the nation’s leading scorer with 33 goals and 15 assists in just 20 games played. She also becomes just the 20th player in program history to be named a First Team All-American in back-to-back seasons.

Leemans ended the year with five goals and 14 assists, while Creatore ended her senior campaign with a career-high 16 goals.

This trio played a large role in the Tar Heels completing their second consecutive undefeated season on the way to the program’s eighth NCAA Championship title.
