The UNC women’s soccer team had a total of five players named to Top Drawer Soccer’s Best XI teams for the 2019 season, which were revealed on Monday.

Junior defender Emily Fox led the way as a First Team selection, while junior forward Alessia Russo earned a Second Team selection and sophomore midfielder Brianna Pinto was chosen to the Third Team.

In addition, defenders Maycee Bell and Julia Dorsey were each named to the freshman Best XI teams–Bell on the First Team and Dorsey on the Second Team.

This group helped lead head coach Anson Dorrance’s team to a remarkable 24-1-2 record and a spot in the NCAA Championship Game.
