The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced this past Thursday that 13 UNC student-athletes earned spots on the organization’s All-Academic Team.

On the women’s side, Mady Clahane, Kelsey Harrington, Paige Hofstad, Anna Keefer, Sasha Neglia, Taryn Parks, Emerson Porter, Jill Shippee and Sarah Trainor earned the honor.

Representing the UNC men were: Patrick Anderson, Will Coogan, Dolan Owens and Troy Yearwood.

Academic qualifications require all student-athletes selected to have a grade point average of at least 3.25. Athletic qualifications require them to have finished the indoor season ranked in the top 96 in a championship individual event or top 48 in a championship relay event; or participated in the NCAA Outdoor Preliminaries or Championships; or finished the season ranked in the top 48 in the East or West regions.

Of the 13 Tar Heels selected, Anderson, Owens, Keefer, Porter and Shippee each received Academic All-ACC recognition last month as well.

The UNC women’s team was also recognized as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team by virtue of having a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0.
