In the field, UNC’s Tommy Kitchell won his second ACC title of the season in the shot put, becoming the first Tar Heel in 23 years to win a conference championship in the event, and the first in 24 years to do so in both the indoor and outdoor championships.
Up next for the track and field teams are the NCAA Preliminaries, with the Tar Heels competing the east region. Those will run from May 28-31 in Jacksonville, with the NCAA Championships in Oregon then beginning June 11.
